Wedding Duke and Mark
Duke and Mark, our delightful couple from Washington, D.C., had a fairy tale-like wedding in the eternal city. It was an absolute pleasure help plan each and every detail—from the beautiful vases and candles decorating the church, to the scenic photo shoots, to the place cards made of Ferrero Rocher chocolates at the reception —it really was a magical wedding!
Mark and Duke decided on the beautiful Santa Maria in Trastevere for the wedding ceremony. This is one of the oldest churches in Rome, and it is filled with exquisite mosaics and detailed architecture. The golden accents throughout the church illuminated the entire interior. One can only imagine how breathtaking it looked! The couple added personal touches with white flowers as well as candles in vases to line the isles. It was a very moving ceremony, and what made it even more special was that sixty guests made up of friends and families were able to attend this witness of love!
I met with Duke and Mark last spring to look at various venues, and they expressed that they wanted a castle in Rome…. Well, we found just the spot! The reception was held at lovely small castle just outside Rome that was fit for a couple as wonderful as Duke and Mark! It had a historic and romantic look from the outside, and radiated elegance and beauty within. The dining room was decorated charmingly with a winter feel—pine cones, gold and white tones, and candles. Guests danced to the music of the live band and shared in special moments such as the couple’s first dance and when they cut the cake!
Duke and Mark rented a fabulous historic villa to gather with friends and family for their pre-wedding activities. It was so nice that the families could all stay together for Christmas! The bridesmaids wore gorgeous gold dresses with purple shawls, and the groomsmen were dressed in matching suites and gold ties. Quite the handsome bunch!
