Wedding Alison and Dominic
Rome was a particularly special wedding destination for our British couple, Alison and Dominic! Alison, originally from South Africa, moved to the UK at the age of 14. Life eventually led her to study Broadcast Journalism in Leeds, where she met the love of her life, Dominic! The couple met in 2009 while they were both in University, and have been together ever since. They now reside in Leeds, where Dominic was born and raised.
Back in 2010 Alison spent a week in Rome with her family and fell in love with the city, particularly Trastevere. Towards the end of her stay, her family came across Santa Maria Basilica, a beautiful Church in the heart of Trastevere, with a gorgeous interior and so much character and history. They went inside for a Sunday Mass, and ever since she wanted to get married in that very Church. When Dominic proposed to Alison on Christmas Eve, she immediately knew where the wedding would be…Rome! What a dream come true!
The wedding ceremony in Santa Maria was absolutely beautiful, just as Alison had imagined. She looked amazing in her dress holding her bouquet of white flowers, and of course Dominic looked handsome in his suit and bow tie! The reception was a short walk from the ceremony and was located at a beautiful and intimate outdoor venue. The couple chose a rustic, Mediterranean theme which included white and cream colored tablecloths, simple white flower and rose pedals, and branches on Rosemary attached to each of the guests’ menus…how cute! The kids looked like they had the most fun with candy, crayons, and markers at their very own table labeled, “No Adults Allowed!”
